I have a long form that has a few required fields. When a fields is not completed, I'd like the message to appear at the bottom of the form so the user doesn't have to figure out on their own that they missed a field.
    How do I do that?

I thought the "Validation Summary" location was for that purpose, but setting it to Bottom has no affect.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Ok... so you set the validation summary message to appear at the bottom but it still shows up at the top? There is a setting to enable / disable the validation summary, did you set this as well?

You can also use client side events for some forms of validation, you can view a demo of this here:

    Thanks,

    Client side validation is checked
    Server side validation is checked
Display * next to field label is checked
Display Validation Summary Message is checked
    Validation Summary Location is Bottom
Force User to Top or bottom after validation is "Bottom"

Set focus on first validation error field was checked, it made no difference when saving the form. The user was not taken to the field that was required.
