This one dynamic form on my site will sometimes appear totally blank when loaded in FireFox. Not every time, just sometimes. When it does, it is totally blank. All I can see is the module container. No fields no labels. Does anyone have a hint on why it does that or how to fix it?

It is a complicated form. It has initial javascript, client side events, SQL based combo boxes, question events and completion events and connects with a payment gateway. Jquery has been turned off.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Whetstone,

Do you have Initial SQL Rendering/Bind enabled on this form? Sometimes, I've seen if the SQL Query fails, the form will break similar to how you're describing.

What I mean by query failing is a SQL Syntax Error may be present in this section, therefore whenever the SQL bind is attempted it fails, thus breaking the form.

Let me know if you have this feature enabled or disabled and we'll take it from there.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Hi Ryan, thanks for your help. The Initial SQL Rendering/Bind section is empty. That's a feature I have not used on this form. It sounds like you could suggest more to look at after this... I want to hear your next thought.

There are at least 20 combo boxes with SQL Driven Options. If one or more of them had a failed query results set, could that break the form? What else?

    Hello Whetstone,

What version of FireFox does this issue occur in? Could you provide a link for me to check out the page? Something sounds awry, and it's probably something that will stick out like a sore thumb if I jump in and take a look.

If you'd like the link to remain private please send the link to rbakerink (at) datasprings (dot) com.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

FireFox is up to date at version 12.0. A link to the page should be arriving in your inbox. Thanks for taking a look!

Ryan, This problem has taken a turn. I was looking at the page again, with the login that I gave you, and noticed one too many "Manage" buttons at the top left of the form. There should be one for the form and that is it. But there were two, stacked and off-set from each other. The one on top was for a feedback module that should have been below the form. Since it appeared to be misbehaving and covering up the form, I moved the feedback module to a lower pane. Presto. The misbehaving form was uncovered and is now visible. At this point I am guessing that the feedback module was doing a perfect job of covering up the Dynamic Form with the exact right dimensions to cover the form.

    I still don't know why
    1. the feedback form would cover up the dynamic form
    2. How it could be so precise with it's dimensions to cover it perfectly
3.Why the feedback form would be clean and empty with no fields showing
    4. Why it only did this in FireFox and not IE or Chrome or Safari.
    5. Why this only happened to a few user accounts and not all of them.

I suppose I am not going to concern myself with finding these answers. I'm just happy to fix the form what wasn't actually broken. It appears there was nothing at all wrong with this form.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for following up Whetstone, and pertaining to your 5 questions, I personally couldn't answer them. However speaking from experience, I'm certain that these two modules would sometimes fight each other for their layer. Check out Z-Index, I'm sure that the feedback was just beating out Dynamic Forms Z-Index since they were in the same pane.

However I'm uncertain, I'm just trying to bring some sense to the non-sense

Let me know if you ever have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
