Extract month from date using client side script

    DynamicRegistration v4.10.70
    DotNetNuke v6.00.02

    I'm trying to use client side event on a hidden field (BirthMonth) to automatically set its value based on the date entered in the date field BirthDay.

    Can anyone give me a tip on what that client side script would be?

    Hi Michael - Is the date field a text box field or an actual "Date" field type". You might want to view how we handle dates using a jQuery Plugin at http://www.datasprings.com/formdemos (Demo 28). I am not sure if you are using the built-in date field type but you might try and implement it using a text box field and see if that is easier.

    I'm using an actual date field type. The problem with text fields is all the extra effort in validating the dates. Is there not some simple month(BirthDay) type function?

    I've got the date field set to use Date - combo box so I can clearly see the month field I just need to know how to access it.

    Hi Michael,

    Unfortunately there is not a direct client side event / function that we have created which can handle this... You would need to write the JavaScript to place within the client side events area or modify the source code to allow this to happen. This is something we will review in the future if we receive enough requests though. If this is important enough we do have programmers who can write the JavaScript necessary via our Premium Integration Services.
