    Hi There,

I have a tick box on my registration form. When it is clicked, I wanted a event to fire that would update another field with todays date. The problem is, when defining a question event, there is no way to have a SQL driven default value so I can get it to run Select GetDate() As DefaultValue.

Is there any way around this please?

    Many Thanks

    Hello Marc,

Unfortunately Dynamic Registration doesn't allow you to set a default value with a Conditional Question Event.

So to achieve this functionality in DR, you will need to use JavaScript. You will need to add JavaScript to the On Client Side section of the Checkbox questions with JavaScript to do the following:

    * Get the ID of the field that you wish to contain the date value if the checkbox is checked. You can find this value in the source code.

    * When checkbox is checked get the date(via JavaScript) and assign it to the field that needs to contain this value(most likely a hidden field using the ID).

I created a blog post to showcase how to use JavaScript to hide and show rows on a form, however irrelevant, you can reference some of the JavaScript provided in the blog post to create the workflow on your DR form.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
