Using DR 4.2.1 on DNN 6.1.5 - Any page containing the DR module will break the modals that popup for basic functionality.

Say you want to login. The modal pops up and once you enter your credentials the modal (which should disappear) flashes to contain a mirror of the current page. The user then has to manually close the window down.

Using Tabs and Panes: As soon as a field with validation is modified the panes and tabs breaks and disappear leaving some but not all fields on the page.

I have had a mass of complaints from our clients. As this is a registration module, it is fair to say that people will be logging in, using modals and want to use the tab/panel and validation functionality.

Default DarkKnight skin: admin control panel is broken when using the "standard" group of skins. The "mega menu" group seems to work.

I should note that this is tested on a CLEAN install off DNN 6.1.3 and 6.1.5 with the default skin and no other module on the page.

This happens with all modals on all browsers. This version was released without proper testing, we have upgraded all our sites and cant just revert now. We are having to hack patch our sites just to get them to work. Turning off most of the functionality.

There is obviously many issues with jQuery and JavaScript clashes with the standard DNN instance and default skin. We were promised a patch a week ago and are yet to hear anything about it.

We operate income generating sites for clients. We cannot have a vendor release products, untested, that can potentially jeopardize our business.

DataHi Marc - thanks for your comments. These have already been logged within our Zendesk and Jira systems and we are working towards a resolution. Right now we plan to have the JavaScript and Password validation issues fixed by EOD tomorrow with a patch. These issues came about because of new enhancements within the latest version related to how Panels/Tabs/Groups of questions work and also some enhancements within the ASP.NET validation controls which are conflicting with DotNetNuke framework.

So.. These are high on our list to fix and then we can review any other major issues.

I will follow up tomorrow with a patch.

    Thanks,

    Chad

DataHi Marc - I apologize for the delay, this is something I am still working on and I am hoping to have the patch ready by this evening. We have two other related cases but those updates are through the http://support.datasprings.com and unfortunately can't transfer all of your case details there.

The only specific issues we have logged and duplicated though are specifically related to some JavaScript problems with some updated ASP.NET validation routines. So any of these other issues are separate from the patch that is coming out.

Hi Marc - thanks for posting some additional details here. I would be very interested in any over customers experiences with the new build as well. At this point we have logged and identified two specific areas of the latest release related to validation and JavaScript problems with validation, and also using compare validation with using the new panels feature.

Please keep in mind that many areas of code did not change from the previous release and some of the problems you identified above could also be related to DotNetNuke directly or a conflict that would have also occurred with a previous release. So... For issues like the modal popup issue described, I imagine the previous version would also have this problem, and this could be related to something hat changed in DNN recently as 6.1.5 is a very new release.

We are working in the patch and hope to release it this week. I encourage any other customers who are experiencing the same things Marc has to please let us know or comment here.

    Thanks,

    Chad

Hi, I can confirm the same issue with in the new DNN 6.2 (installed from scratch) and Dynamic Registration 4.20.1 (Enterprise Licence), I eagerly await a resolution as well.

There is no longer the 'Disable JQuery' option under 'AJAX JQuery Integration in 'Dynamic Forms' module configuration, was that removed or changed in 4.20.1?

    Thanks in advanced.

Hi - Yes, thank you for sharing. The Disable jQuery option was removed because we no longer enable it at all because its always included/injected directly within jQuery.

So, to be more specific the issue you were having is related to the pop up issue described, the JavaScript errors mentioned, or what specifically? We know about the JavaScript issues with field validation and so far that is what we have included in the patch, we are waiting to try and get any/all issues figured out before releasing the patch though so that is what is holding it back right now.

    Thanks,

    Chad

The specific problem I have is that When Dynamic Registration is on the page all javascript based "Manage" buttons no longer work, same happens to the menus.

Do you have an immediate solutions to get those to work again when Dynamic Registration is in place?
    Thanks!

Hi - I don't know that this specific issue you brought up has been brought up before... At least from the issues Marc has been describing I don't believe that the Manage menu issues have been a problem.

Either way, I just sent Marc a patch... Once this patch has been verified to fix the majority of the known issues that we have identified we will be releasing this to everyone (hopefully by the end of the week).

    Thanks,

    Chad

We appear to be having this exact problem on a site running DNN CE 6.02.02 and we just installed Dyn Reg 4.20.20 - is there a patch/update beyond the 4.20.20 version? Thank you - Jeremy

Hi Jeremy - Although it might appear to the exact same issue (and it's possible it is) this basically happens as far as I know if you have any skin or container that is loading JavaScript files that don't support jQuery.NoConflict() because our module calls that. Can you tell me if you load up FireBug for FireFox and you load the "Console" piece of the app, does this display any specific JavaScript errors there? If so, what are those errors?

Because of this JavaScript problem (or I think almost any JavaScript problem) you will get this error with the manage menu.

    Thanks,

    -Chad
