i was using html input for file uploads and it was working great. but then, my client said he cannot upload anymore. i checked the settings but nothing is changed.
the module inserts the data to the sql table as expected, but leaves the file column empty, and doesn't upload the file to the specified folder.
i tried telerik's upload, it worked but i have to use html input.
as i said, the settings are the same but file upload control stopped working.
has anyone encountered this problem before? and is there any solution?

Hi isenonder, That's strange that it just stopped working. Let me ask you a few questions: 1. Was there a change on the server, maybe? 2. Can you tell me the exact module version and your DNN version, please? 3. From the View Form Results or your SQL table, can you tell when the problem started? Thanks! Candace

Hi Candace, thanks for the answer. 1- i'm not sure if any change was made in the server, but jut to make sure, i've given full control permissions to "everyone" user for that folder. didn't work. 2- dnn version: 06.01.02 (98) dynamic forms version: 4.0.12 3- the problem started at: 2012-06-12 14:39:51.540 (response date time of the first unsuccesful insert). well, i'm using telerik's uploader now. but it writes ###31456kb at the end of document name. and this causes me big trouble. |

Thanks for the answers. Let me ask you a few more questions. 1. Can you tell me what settings you have for your telerik upload field -- Filename Type, Alternate File Upload Map Path, Alternate Upload Folder, File Save Type, etc. ? 2. Does it have an effect on your insert if you change the File Save Type or the Filename Type? 3. Were you already on DNN 6.1.2 when this was working? Or did you upgrade your DNN version recently? If you prefer, please use the Contact Us Support Form to send us additional information and screenshots privately. Please be sure to include the URL to this forum thread as a reference. Thanks! Candace

Hi again,
Firstly, i've solved my problem by writing extra sql query to my dynamic view. it now cuts off the ###xxxxxkb part at the end of the document name while viewing. but still it inserts the db table with that part.
anyway, i'm using telerik atm but it would be better if i can use html input, so i'm answering your questions:
1- Filename type: friendly name (with date) alternate file upload map path: empty alternate upload folder: IztoGenel/Dokumanlar (this folder exists and it was uploading succesfully before). file save type: file name only alternate allowable extensions: empty invalid extension error: empty maximum file size: 200000 (i tried a lot of options here like 2000000000 and i also tried uploading 1-2 kb files. no luck).
2- nope. i tried every possible options but none worked. only changing upload provider to "telerik" works.
3- yes, i never did an upgrade after installing dynamic forms and other datasprings modules.

Hi - Ok, a few things to keep in mind here: For DNN 6.x the only supported module version at this time is Dynamic Forms 4.1. There were several updates to file upload field types to reflect changes in DotNetNuke so this could be causing some of the problems. Second - You might enable Debug Mode and then letting us know any information that spits out after you try and upload a file/click submit. Third - You might test to alternate upload, I know you mentioned that it used to work but I believe that the folder path you gave has a slash going / and it might need to be \. Thanks, Chad
