    Hello Hazen,

    You can edit your Image or Upload Field type in Dynamic Registration and go under Advanced Field Options. Under here you will find a feature where you can map your Question to a Profile Property. There will be a Quick Create link to the right of the Mapping field Combo Box.

    Make sure you have a Profile Property to map to this Question.

    When an image is uploaded and the form is submitted the name of the Image will be saved into the Profile Property that you've specified.

    In order to gain access to the image again, it's important to know that unless otherwise specified, the images are being uploaded to the DynamicRegistration_Images folder on your server.

    You can go to Admin -> File Manager to browse for the DynamicRegistration_Images folder. Once you find it, you go open it and look at the images that have been uploaded to confirm that the uploading procedure is working appropriately.

    You will now need to use a module such as Dynamic User Directory, Dynamic Views, or Tailored Text/HTML to show the image associated to the user logged in.

    Dynamic User Directory will be the best method depending on how you saved the image.

    Either way any of these modules will work to display this Profile Image to the appropriate user.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    I understand that I can map it to a file.
    I'd like to know how to map it to the core of dnn, that is used out of the box for the profile field
    If i do it the way you describe then none of the core profile funtionalitly will work with the image.

    Hello Hazen,

    At no point will you map this to a file.

    The instructions I provided you will map to the UserProfile. The DNN Core represents the Required User information like the following:

    * Username
    * Password
    * First Name
    * Last Name

    Optional:

    * Email
    * Display Name

    Pretty much any other fields other than listed above would be considered User Profile properties/values. If you'd like to use the Out of the Box profile fields then you can simply select it from the Combo Box that has the Quick Create link to the right(just don't click the link). The Quick Create link is to be used if there isn't an existing conventional Profile Property name relevant to what you're saving.

    For instance, what if you needed to save a Tax Identification Number. Well there's not an out of the box profile field that is named conventionally to Tax Identification Number so in this case you would use the Quick Create if you wished to save this information to the User Profile.

    Half of the battle is getting the name of the Image saved into the User Profile(meaning they uploaded an image).

    The other half is referencing the file name to pull this image into an HTML IMG tag when hoping to display it(which can be done even if stored in the User Profile)

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
