    Hi,

So, I have 4000 users uploaded via user import, with only a couple custom fields.  There's then a registration page which shows users their contact info and whatnot, the idea being they can update their info.

When updating in safari, IE, and FF with subscriber access, the following error is produced in a redish field:
A critical error has occurred. An unexpected error has occurred

Yet I can update in safari with admin access.  Any ideas why this is?

    Txs in advance!

Hi Doug - I think it would help if you could provide us a few details related to this:

    1. Do you see any specific errors under Admin, Event Viewer? If so what are they / can you copy and paste those errors there?

    2. Can you let us know what specific versions of DotNetNuke and what specific versions of Dynamic Registration you are running on (this version should appear within the control panel of Dynamic Registration or under Host / Extensions).

    Thanks,

    Chad

Our DNN version is PE6.1.4; our Dynamic Registration version is 4.20.11 (I had the test module, then upgraded to normal; there was a glitch where the system wouldn't accept the new 'normal' files, but they updated the ones available to me to download then things seemed to work, though I'm not sure how much I tested them. I thought that with the test version things were working fine, better than now, hope I didn't mess anything up.....)

Hope all this makes some sense, thanks in advance!

    Best Regards,

    Doug at sid dot org

    Hi Doug,

We recently posted a new patch version 4.2.20 so let me point you to that one first. Please access it from your DNN Store account under Patches (or in MYDownloads if you have the Collection 5.0).

Please let us know if this clears the issue for you. Thanks!

Doug - One other thing I believe you should test. Can you please go into "DNN Core Integration" and verify that you have fields specified there for Username as well as Password/Confirm Password? Are these fields visible and present on the registration form?

    Thanks,

    Chad

Thanks Chad, I feel so foolish, we'd deleted the password field at some point, and restoring that eliminated the erros so it's working quite well now.

The only loose end is that the fields we specify as read only have the data show up in white font on a white field in Safari (v5.1.7 on a PC---I'll test it on one of my wife's mac's later but expect the same result)  If you know a way to get around this, or alternatively to detect borwser type and then not display that section for Safari please let me know.  Even without that, I'll probably get clearance to launch now---thanks a ton!!!

    Hi Candace,

I only see the patches below, nothing for 4.2.2.......would the patch make read only data show up in Safari?  Currently it's showing up in white, on a white field.  I think I can launch nevertheless, but they might make me do some sort of browser detection and at least show a warning to people who are using safari......
