    Hello All!

I am trying to setup a HTT Post completion event. The API provider requires that I use basic authentication.

How would I go about providing this information in the post header?

I have everything working in Fiddler but haven't had any luck with a HTTP POST completion event in Dynamic Regstration

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Jason

Hi Jason - When using Fiddler are you using a GET or a POST? I believe we are using basic authentication... What specifically do you see if you enable Debug Mode when the Form Post completes? What specific errors do you receive (or anything in debug mode) when using the form completion event?

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Hi Chad,

I have been successful in Fiddler with get, put, and post.

To clarify the url is (https). I am converting the user / password to base64 just as I do in fiddler. This site requires me to submit the post in .xml format. Does http post it even work with .xml format in your module???

How / where do I specify get, post, or put in your module? I am assuming if I don't specify the method it defaults to get or post?

    So here is a example:

    https://app.teamsupport.com/api/xml/customers
I have also tried appending .xml to the end of the url thinking the module could interupt the proper format without it.

    Authorization: Basic NXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX==

What is the proper way to add this info in the module? I have tried everything I can think of!

    Thanks for all your feedback....

The error I continue to receive is: "DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at DataSprings.Modules.DynamicRegistration.DynamicRegistration.ProcessEvents(Int32 MyUserID, Boolean blnCancel, Boolean blnRedirectOnly, Boolean blnPaymentGateway, String strPaymentStatus, String strResponseID, Int32 intPaymentUserID) at DataSprings.Modules.DynamicRegistration.DynamicRegistration.ExecuteRegistration(Boolean ProcessPaymentNotification, String strResponseID) at DataSprings.Modules.DynamicRegistration.DynamicRegistration.lnkRegister_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.LinkButton.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.LinkButton.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.LinkButton.System.Web.UI.IPostBackEventHandler.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) at System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(IPostBackEventHandler sourceControl, String eventArgument) at System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(NameValueCollection postData) at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace

Hi Jason - A couple of things...

    1. At this point now that I saw some of the additional responses it might be necessary to

    2. At this time Dynamic Registration and Dynamic Forms only send out posts as "POSTS" within the verb and do not support other types at this time.

    3. At this time the ContentType is set to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" although you could technically send out the post within an XML string. Such as $(FirstName) etc...

    4. I actually do not see that we are setting authentication within the post from the code I am reviewing.

Since our modules support JavaScript/jQuery you might also consider going the route of sending the post via jQuery. You can find some examples of that within this technical article:

    Thanks,

    Chad

    Thanks Chad.

I did have a chance to review using jquery. I believe the point of using a module is it is suppose to be user friendly and not require advanced skill set to accomplish basic tasks. I just feel the basic http post functionaility isn't included in this module.

    1. User should be able to choose format. JBOD, XML, etc.
    2. User should be able to enter authentication credentials and set authentication type if applicable.
    3. Basic methods such as get, put, post, etc should be supported.

Thank you for your feedback Jason. I have logged this within our internal system for review within future enhancements at https://datasprings.atlassian.net/browse/DF-41.

    Thanks,

    Chad
