    I have a Dynamic Registration for that allows the user to select options.  Based on the options, an amount is calculated and written to a read-only field called "OrderTotal"  The OrderTotal field is visible, and I can see that the right value is being written to this field.

    My javascript seems to work flawlessly.  When I select various options it writes the proper amount into the OrderTotal textbox.  For example, the OrderTotal is 200.00

    But when I click register, I get an error that says "(TestMode)A valid amount is required."   It appears the $(OrderTotal) value is not carrying over into the authorize.net processing.

    x_amount=$(OrderTotal)

    If I go into the authorize.net settings and manually type 1.00 as the transaction amount, it works perfectly.

    x_amount=1.00

    Hello Jon,

    You may want to enable debug mode for this Dynamic Registration instance. Then go about the process of submitting the form.

    You should be able to spot what's happening.

    I've seen JavaScript calculations that were flawless, but sometimes when a Question Event(POSTBACK) is initiated the totaled value from your computation is lost.

    You'll need to be certain to add the same JavaScript into Module Configuration -> MODULE LAYOUT / JAVASCRIPT / STYLESHEET -> Custom JavaScript File -> Initial JavaScript.

    ** Please note that the Initial JavaScript section doesn't render tokens, so you may need to reference actual HMTL ID's by JavaScript. This will require you to look through the Source Code of the page or to use a tool like Google Chrome Inspector or FireFox FireBug to find Id's.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    I figured out the problem. I created a text box field that was read-only, to store the calculated value within. I wanted this field to be visible to the user, but not able to be edited. The readonly textbox value did not post and remain usable during the authorize.net payment process.

    Is there a reason a textbox marked readonly cannot maintain a usable value through the end of the entire payment process, including ability to be written on a field.

    OR... how can I make my javascript event update two fields at once? One field that makes the total visible, another field that is hidden but might be postable?

    Hi Jon - Yes, read only fields do not have their viewstate stored after a post back so the only way you can use a value from a read only field would be if you had that brought up (like a SQL Default value or a default value) when the form rendered. This is a security precaution with JavaScript and browsers... because if you could manipulate via JavaScript (like with an application such as FireBug) and modify the value of that read only field, then it really would not be read only.

    What I usually do in this situation is: Create a hidden field as well as a read only field or text/html span tag and then use the read-only field as a placeholder that the user sees, and the hidden field as the value that is passed over to Authorize.net etc...

    Thanks!

    -Chad
