I'm seeing some issues with the auto link tracking in Opt In. I'm running version 4.40.10 on DNN 6.1.2.
There are five symptoms I'm observing. I do not know if they are connected:
2. Links that are below a root domain will often have only the root tracking link generated. For example, if I have a link to
http://domain.com and a link to
http://domain.com/page.aspx, only one tracking link gets generated (for
http://domain.com). For the second link, it uses the same tracking link and adds /page.aspx to the end.
3. (I think this is connected to #2) Links that share a common path will only generate one tracking link. For example, if I have a link to
http://domain.com/Articles/tabid/545/ID/670/article1.aspx and
http://domain.com/Articles/tabid/545/ID/671/article2.aspx, only one tracking link will be generated (from the first link) and will be used for both.
5. When re-using content from a previous newsletter, the tracking links are brought in, but sometimes are missing the dollar sign and parentheses. This may be connected to some of the above issues (#1 and #4 perhaps), where they may not be generated properly in the first place.
Any suggestions to remedy these issues?
Also, tracking links are getting appended to the domain when published on the website, breaking the link. Any way to turn that off?
