Gents, I want to use the text suggest field to get usernames, that works fine if i type the begin of an username. I have users in the form of "servername\fullname", how can I search a name. in other words, can I use the 'Like' in the select query?
    Thanks.
    Hicham.

    Hello Hicham,

For the Look up SQL, I would recommend using something along the sorts:

    ... WHERE ServerName LIKE '%' + ServerName + '%\%' + '%' + FullName + '%'

I'm not exactly certain what you're trying to do, however you'll probably want to do something similar to what's above.

Let me know if this assists you.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,
    Thanks for ure replay.
what i m trying to do is to adjust the look up sql query to be able to search in the whole string username (=servername\somebody) ,then can the word 'som' return also suggestions like 'servername\somebody'.
    I tried : WHERE username LIKE '%' + '$(txtSugField)' + '%' but dont return any result more.
Or is the look up sql intended only for the beging of words ?

    Thanks,
    Hicham.

    Hello Hicham,

I would recommend enabling the form DEBUG mode to see if you can review the Query.

Can you please reference pages 73, 74, and 75 of our Dynamic Forms User Guide to ensure that you're configuring this field correctly:
    http://www.datasprings.com/userguid...rGuide.pdf

There's several examples about the Text Suggest.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hello Ryan,

I dont see in the examples what I need, so the text suggest use a default query wich is looking only for the begin of words, and i think (which is a pity) you cant modify it.

    Thanks.
    Hicham.

    Hello Hicham,

I was testing the DNN Text field on my local host and have tried this query:

select distinct FirstName As ID, FirstName + '/' + LastName As Name from Users order by FirstName

It's similar to what you need. I notice that you can use Tokens in this query so you may not be able to get this to work for your particular requirement.

Advanced Field Types can sometimes have the least amount of customizations.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
