Question events not firing from Date question

    I have a Question that is a date (textbox w/ Calendar) that I have setup with a question event.  The QE is set to respond to any value (if a user enters a date, we want to unhide other questions.)

    The event does not fire as expected.  I suspect this is because there is no postback when the user selects the date.  If this is the case, then why am I able to configure the QE in this way, if it's not going to work?

    The User's Guide does not list the types of questions that may / may not have QE's fired from them, and the UI implies that all types will work.

    Hello,

    I've never tried or heard of attempting to fire a Question Event based off of a Date Field response.

    I know that you can't fire a Question event based off of the response from a Textbox. Which Date Field format are you using? Textbox with Calendar icon? 3 Combo Boxes(Month, Day & Year)? Either way, this is an advanced field. I'm not surprised that it's not working as one would expect. Not sure how this field type is showing up in the Question Event Triggering field, but can definitely see how this is confusing.

    So as an alternative, I would recommend configuring a simple Question Event for a field on you Dynamic Form, say a Combo Box.

    After configuring this, please view the source code of the Combo Box tied to the Question Event. In the OnChange section, you'll see a __doPostBack segment of code, copy this JavaScript statement. This code is responsible for firing a Postback.

    You can paste this code into any JavaScript supported section in Dynamic Forms(Initial JavaScript, Submit JavaScript, or Client Side JavaScript on the Question Level). This code will execute the Question Event you configured, so be sure to configure the Question Event to meet your requirements.
