Hello, I purchased Dynamic Registration 5.0 and I setup a completion event to send an email to the user. I specified a From Name when sending this email but when I received the email, the email address was shown instead. Is this a known bug? Thanks! |

Hello Josh, Did you place a custom token or Dynamic Registration defined token in the From Name section of the Email Completion Event? Which DNN version are you operating on? Please let me know. Thanks, Ryan |

Hi Ryan,
No I didn't use a token or anything. I just typed in a name into the field. The name that I used was Customer Service.
I'm running DNN 7.0.6 PE |

Hi guys, Let me jump in here for a moment. I had the opportunity to test this for another case and was able to confirm the problem with DR 5.0 on this test page: http://www.datasprings.com/ds-pages/dr-test Chad is aware and I believe this will be included in the first 5.0 patch coming. Thanks! Candace |

Is this a site that you can provide access to? I haven't heard of this issue before and would like to investigate if you provide the opportunity. You can send me credentials to your site by emailing to rbakerink (at) datasprings (dot) com. I'll need the following information: 1) URL to the Registration form 2) Temporary SuperUser or Host credentials Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Ryan |

Hi, I also have this problem and I am running version 4.2.3.
With DNN versions less than 7.0, I solved the problem by inserting the From name directly in the From Email Address field using the following notation: FromName .
After uploading to DNN 7.0 the above notation fails with the following error: "An invalid character was found in the mail header: '>'."
So a fix is appreciated.
Cheers
Gaspare

Hello Gaspare, Please enable Debug mode for this Dynamic Registration instance. Fill out the form and submit it so that the email completion event is triggered. Since you're in debug mode, you should see the exact email details being executed(From Name, To Email, etc..) Does anything look out of the ordinary? Please let me know. Thanks, Ryan |
