I am using scripts to add values to a text box for grand totals. When validation fails the value in the field resets. How do I fix this.

Also, I have  a review page. When the submit button is clicked the email is sent out and then it goes to the review page.

    1. My calculated filed (grandtotal) is set back to zero and not sent to the review field?
    2. How do I defer the email until the user clicks continue?

    Hello Dan,

I would recommend placing the same calculating JavaScript under Module Configuration -> Advanced Coding Options -> Custom JavaScript File -> Initial JavaScript. This section will execute any JavaScript on page load.

This section will be execute on postbacks and page load, such as:

    Loading the page
    Dynamic Form Validations
    Dynamic Form Question Events
    etc...

If the Continue button is the submit button of your Dynamic Form, the Email should not be sent until all validations pass on the form.

Please let me know if this is not the case. What version of Dynamic Forms and DNN are you operating on?

    Thanks,

    Ryan

That allows the information to work during validation. But the review page still does not show the correct values.

    DNN 6.02.06
    Dynamic Forms 4.10.4

Is there a way to send the email only after the review page? Instead of after the initial submit?

    Hello Dan,

Is the "Review Page" just the feature within Dynamic Form's "Display Message to User after initial save"?

Dynamic Forms can't send an email based off of the Review message display to a user. However my recommendation would be just to create a new page, add a Dynamic Form on it, to act as the Review page.

Now you'll have control over all of the form completion events.

Regarding your other response "But the review page still does not show the correct values.", this would be a direct result of:

A.) You're not passing the value to the review section correctly
    or
B.) Your JavaScript calculations aren't working within certain scenarios.

It's a good idea to store Total calculated values into a Dynamic Form field, whether it's a textbox, hidden field, etc... this way you can utilize the features within Dynamic Forms to pass this value to another Dynamic Form. I.E. Pass value of this question to Cookie Variable or Session Variable. These would be the ideal features to use.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

I was using a readonly text box.

    Hello Dan,

Textboxes with a Readonly attribute tends to block the token rendering.

I would recommend passing the date value from a Hidden field or a textbox w/o the readonly. Please disable the readonly feature on this textbox and let me know if this begins to work when reviewing the information in the Review Message.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
