    Hello all!
I have a client who wants a particular date field to prepopulate as:
    [Today's Date] + 14 days  ...or...
    $(PriorDateField) - 14 days

Essentially, he wants date fields to autogenerate based on either a set number of days in the future, or have it based in relation to another date field (e.g. - if a "Start Date" is Aug 1, then he might want the default "end Date" to be Aug 15).

    Thanks
    Tim

    Hello Tim,

You have 2 different options to achieve this:

    a.) JavaScript
    b.) SQL

I would personally use a SQL Default value query, since SQL is more natural to me than JavaScript. You can build quite a complex SQL query and return the date accordingly based on your requirements. I would recommend using the DateAdd function to determine whether to set the default date to +/- 14 days.

I would recommend looking throughout Google.com to find date functions that will help you achieve this. You'll want to keep your eye on DateName, DateAdd, and possibly DateDiff.

If this is something you'd like professional assistance with, Data Springs can be of assistance via Premium Integration Services, you can learn more about this offered service at the link below:

To build a SQL script like you've described, I'd expect this to involve 1-2 hours to implement and test.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
