    I am trying to track unique form completions using the $(UniqueCompletionID) token. I currently have a form with a hidden field "CompletionID" with a default value of "$(UniqueCompletionID)". When a user fills out the form the unique completion ID is passed via an email completion event. This works great and the email contains the resolved unique ID for that form completion.

    However, when I try to look at form completions in the View Form Results section of the admin menu the $(UniqueCompletionID) token is not showing as resolved (just shows $(UniqueCompletionID) as the value). Is there a way to make it so that particular forms unique ID is displayed in the form completion results? I want to be able to search form results by that ID.

    Dynamic Forms: 4.1
    DNN: 6.2

    Thanks.
    Chris

    Hello Chris,

    I'm not certain why this value isn't being stored properly.

    Can you check your Dynamic Form version? Do you have Dynamic Forms 4.1.4 installed?

    As an alternative, to see if this works, I would do the following:

    1.) Create/alter Question to contain the UniqueID.
    2.) Make this a Hidden field with a SQL Default Value.
    3.) Below is the SQL for the SQL Default Value:

    A.) Complete GUID:

    Select cast(newid() as nvarchar(50)) As DefaultValue

    B.) GUID with Only 8 characters

    select substring(cast(newid() as nvarchar(50)), 0,9) As DefaultValue

    4.) Use this new hidden field TOKEN in your Form Completion Events.

    Give this a try and let me know if this alleviates your issue. Or try the upgrade if applicable and see if that fixes the issue.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

    Thanks for reply. Tried the SQL route and I am now getting a unique ID in the form results. Thanks! Was a bit surprised to see the value of the $(UniqueID) token and the value returned from the SQL statement did not match up. Is that to be expected?

    Example:
    - Using $(UniqueCompletionID) Token: 88327ddf-f6de-4a86-b0cb-3a4411f52542
    - Using the SQL statement: 88E062EE-DDA0-452B-8834-D4C8DC18AD1C

    using 4.1.0 of Dynamic Forms.

    Thanks again.

    Hello Chris,

    The SQL I provided is independent from the '$(UniqueCompletionID)' value.

    I'm basically calling the same type of function in SQL for a GUID "NewID()". This is a random string generating function, and the chances of UniqueCompletionID and the value from the SQL I provided ever matching up is almost impossible(due to the chances).

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
