I have an SQL event named "EventExample1" with an SQL query that returns a single result. In the email event that follows, I have tried multiple different ways of referencing the SQL result without any success.

The PDF guide says the format is $(SQLResponse_EventName)

I have tried $(SQLResponse_EventExample1), $(SQLResponseEventExample1), $(EventExample1), and other variations, but nothing works.

I have made sure the events are in proper sequence.

I have made sure the SQL query returns things properly.

I even tried changing the column name to match the event name but that didn't work.

I feel like I've tried everything.

    What am I doing wrong?

    ( v: 4.0.11.14620 / 6.20 )

    Thanks in advance,

    Billy

    Hello Billy,

It sounds like you have this setup appropriately.

The only thing that I see is that your Dynamic Forms version is at 4.0.1 which is an older version. I'd recommend upgrading to Dynamic Forms 4.1.4 to ensure full compatibility between DNN and Dynamic Forms.

You should take a look at our Upgrade Policy to see any discounts you may qualify for when upgrading:

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Thanks Ryan.

We upgraded to the latest version last night, but unfortunately the feature is still not working properly.

However, the result is a bit different now.

If we use $(SQLResponse_EventName) in the "email to" field, it doesn't properly render the response, and just leaves a "$" behind.

If we put it anywhere else, it leaves the entire $(SQLResponse_EventName).

If we put it in the "email to" field AND in the body, the "$" gets left behind in the "email to" field and in the body it disappears completely.

    Thoughts?

    Hello Billy,

I've double checked the user guide for Dynamic Forms and it appears that you're going about this the right way.

    PAGE 162:
    http://www.datasprings.com/userguid...rGuide.pdf

Does this response value have to be referenced on form submission? Can you perform the query on the form level before form execution and store the needed values into hidden fields? It sounds like this feature isn't working as expected. To be of further assistance with this feature we'll probably need to dig into your configuration and see what the issue is.

We can be of additional assistance if you can provide the URL to your Dynamic Form and temporary Administrator credentials. Please send this information to dnnsupport@datasprings.com

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
