    Hi Chad,

I am trying to edit Addlisting.ascx and other files to reflect the custom needs I have for the client to enter (or view) a new listing (like deleting year built as we do not need that).

When I modify the file and upload it I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error when I go back and try to add a new listing. This occurs even if I just add a word somewhere like farm asp:label id="lblAddNewListing" CssClass="head" runat="server" Add New FARM Listing /asp:label.

I can usually edit ascx files in modules and am not sure what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks,

    Will Sugg

Hi. Well any manual editing of these files can cause problems with the module. The code behind these objects is trying to reference them and this is why you are getting the error 'object reference not set' is basically saying we can't find the control. We might later add more and more options for this but basically right now the only thing you can do here is set it to be invisible. Within these area where you see properties such as ID="txtCity" and runat="server" you can set a property to set it to not be visible. You can add Visible="False".

So, you might check this out... This way you can set the properties to not show up but the module should not have an error.
