I got FIR working great. Then I visit my site the next day and it's not loading any images. I checked my site in a different browser to make sure this isn't a caching issue, but still no images are loading. So I go into edit mode, but I don't make any changes. Once I click 'OK' it starts working again.  That's a new one to me. Any ideas what could cause this?

This for sure sounds like a caching issue to me... Maybe you can post the URL and ill test in FireFox as well?

Our SP portal isn't public, so I'm afraid you cannot take a look for yourself. But it may be moot as it appears the FIR cannot do what we need anyway. Or at least I cannot figure out how to do it...... As far as I can tell, each 'slide' has to point to the same URL. That doesn't really work for us. Am I understanding that functionality (or lack thereof) correctly?

Hi. No each particular image can point to a separate URL. You can just click on the specific file and choose to enter the URL and click the save icon next to it.

I don't understand what you are telling me to do here. Where do I 'click the specific file'? To add images to the FIR I just define the URL of my image library. Is there a location where I can define each pictures' target URL?

Well... When you click on the image in the listbox it should pop up an area to define the URL for that image. Right next to this area is a link button with the text 'Set URL'. You will need to enter the URL you want specifically for that image and click that link button. With this method you can specify a different URL for every image in the listbox.

Maybe it would be easier if you tell me what page in the manual this process is on, because I still have no idea what you are talking about. What is 'the listbox'? Under the settings for FIR all I see for adding pictures is this:

    "

I defined my image library, but can see no 'target URL' field in either the FIR or in the image library metadata. SHould I be using some custom column in the image library?

I am having this EXACT issue with the Flash Image Rotator AND the Flash News Ticker.  The page in on our intranet so I cannot post a URL.  The problem persists in IE6 and FF3.

To make it more hairy -- I have a test page with two flash news ticker modules displayed.  The first displays fine - the second does not display.  The first uses most of the default settings whereas the second I have chosen to uncheck the Enable Speed Control box and changed the default speed to .6.

Please help me repair my sanity.

Mike - Hi, I apologize I was confused as this forum is more specifically for the DotNetNuke Flash Image Rotator and what you are describing is the SharePoint Web Part Flash Image Rotator. I will have to check, its possible that the SharePoint Web Part doesn't have the feature as this might be a DNN module specific feature only.

Kathleen - Can you tell me if caching is enabled on either of these modules? Also, is it setup to display in random order or sequential?

This particular instance of the flash image rotator is displaying sequential.  I do not see where I have the option to enable caching on the individual modules.  Can you point me to that?  If you would like me to add/send screen shots of my settings, please let me know.

    thanks.

    Kathleen,

Hi. Yes please attach a screenshot of your settings and/or setup a similar configuration on www.betasprings.com (login as host with a password of dnnhost on there). Also, just to clarify this is an issue with the DNN Module right? Not the SharePoint web part?
