I'm calling this a suggestion, but if there's another way to do this I'm all ears.

I'm performing an upload from a membership database, and I need to be turn on or off their status as a member as part of the import.  There is a membership role called "Membership" that I add for all new users, which automatically declares them as an active member, which is fine.

The trick is expiring memberships.  There's an expiration date field in the spreadsheet I'm loading, so my current plan is to run a post-import SQL statement to update the Expiry Date field for the membership role and that should do the trick.  However, I imagine this is a pretty common requirement so it would be nice if there were a "built-in" feature that made it easier to link a field in the import to an expiration date for a particular role, that would be helpful.

    Jon,

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes even if you ran something as a post import query that would work but you could also use the SQL Interactive Event and it could update the field.

    Something like
    Update UserRoles Set ExpiryDate = '$(SomePropertyFromYourFile)' Where UserID = $(USerID) and RoleID = 5

    etc...

Then it would fire for each user and set it at run time.

Thanks for the tip.  I'll definitely use that approach.
