    Hi,

I have been searching the Guide and forums and am not finding an answer specific to this.

Is there any way to add an Order Confirmation page to a Dynamic Form. I have already set up an email confirmation to be sent to the user, but as with many e-commerce sites, users are often taken to a confirmation page with the order details in addition to receiving an email.

Is there a way to acheive this?

Not critical, but the customer is asking if there is such an option.

Which payment gateway, if any are you using? Authorize.net, Paypal, etc? If so, you could set up a form completion event that will re-direct the user to another Dynamic Form confirmation page and tie this to Paypal success event, etc. -- David

Hi - We are not using a payment gateway with these particular order forms. The billing is being handled separately.

Is there any way to use post variables that are posted to a form looking looking for these parameters to be passed? Or another way?

    Thank you.

Yes, you can choose under Form Completion Event, silent HTTP Post and post your variables to a particular URL that way as long as you know what parameters its looking for. -- David

    Hi David,

I understand the principle of sending POST variables to a webpage that will act upon the POST variables, but am not sure I understand the option as it relates to Dynamic Forms.

    I would appreciate you clarifiying.

    The current setup is:
    - An email with the order details is sent to the customer
    - An email with the order details is sent to the company for fulfillment
    - The customer is taken to a page that says "Thank You"

    The desired setup is:
    - An email with the order details is sent to the customer
    - An email with the order details is sent to the company for fulfillment
    - The customer is to a page that says "Thank You - Here are your order details: "

Can I set up the Order Confirmation page expecting these post variables within Dynamic Forms or do I need to do this some other way? Any tutorials on a Dynamic Forms order confirmation page? Seems like it would be a fairly common implementation of an order process.

HI, Dynamic Forms cannot accept HTTP post so you cannot set up a DF page to accept silent HTTP post in the manner you want. However, you can create another DF page with the same shortname variables as the form that is being filled out (order information) and pass these values as querystring variables or session variables and in your redirected Thank You order page, retrieve the querystring variables or session variables. Hope that clarifies things up a bit. -- David

    Hi David,

I tested passing and retrieving variables. This works well - thank you.

Is there any way just to display the value of the variable as text versus text in a read only texbox?

Nope. Within the context of HTML, a textbox is a field for someone to actually enter data, etc. If you want just plain text outside of a textbox, you can use the field type Text / HTML. However, Text / HTML cannot retrieve values from querystring variables so you would have to type type in something with an ID and use client side javascript to set th innerHTML value to something. If this is the direction you want to go, then it can be done but would be somewhat tedious approach depending on how many fields you need to do. -- David
