This may seem silly but in the new DF where are the options to hide the formatting options/buttons in the rich text editor. All I want is a simple multiline text box that I can use to pass information to an email / form.

The old DF had links under the input box to change the options but this is missing in the new version. Im also using the newest DNN.

Please help because I dont want 10 input boxes with unsightly menu bars all over the place.

HI, I don't recall any changes in this area. If you want to use only multiline textbox, shouldn't you just choose textbox field type instead of the Rich Text Editor field. -- David

There are NO options for the rich text editor. Dont know if this is a change in the FCK editor or not. Please look into this as I need to remove the menu bar. If you need to view this on my site let me know but it seems to be because im running either the newest DNN or the newest DF, I assume its the DNN as DF uses the FCK editor.
Also how do you specify the height of a basic text box and make it expand or scroll if the user enters enough text?

HI, if you want a scrollable textbox type of field, then I would recommend using the Text / HTML field type. With the Rich Text Editor option highlighted, simply switch to SOURCE and type in the following:

If I place in a Text/Html field it also shoes up in the Label area and is read only, there is nowhere in the user facing form for a user to enter and text.

I also need to know about the rich editor. With all the option in the menu bar available the user can select to insert files etc. This needs the admin limitation options of the previous editor.

Sorry I dont understand what you mean by "your content here" in the source. I know how to bring up the source but not sure what you did there.

Hi, text/html field works just fine. Problem was that when I typed it in, the forum editor renders it as actual HTML. If you right click on my text area and choose to inspect element, you should get this:

    '' "

the YOUR CONTENT HERE is whatever you can type in. It's just me saying type in whatever you want. TRY IT. On my text area, just start typing or copy and paste some really long pagragraphs and you will see the scrollbar on the right. -- David

DARN. It always renders in HTML but you get the idea. Simply right click in the text area with your browser and choose to "Inspect Element" and you will see the actual HTML code that needs to go into your Text/HTML SOURCE of the rich text editor. -- David

That doesnt help with the rich editor and the fact that there are all the menu items available to the end user and now no way to limit them. THis could cause serious issues not only with layout but with the user always having access to all functions when before that could be limited.

Hi Sentient - I know that nothing changed in our modules but we have had a few users reporting on several of our modules so I am thinking that something changed either in the FCK Editor to maybe turn this on/off?

I have been able to confirm at least on a DNN 523 test site that the editor options are available within the latest versions of Dynamic Forms 3.3. What specific version of DNN are you running on?

Nevermind... I see now what you are talking about... I was thinking before you meant that the options were not present in the back-end administration but you are saying they are not present on the user-facing form (to turn off).

The same answer though... on our end we have those options on a user-facing form. So we might want to compare DNN Versions.
