Our users are logged into our network with individual usernames. I would like to be able to have their username automaticaly sent to us when they submit the forms (users would not need to input their username). I know there is a way to do this with the IP address ( $IP I think).

So the form results sent to my email would be something like.

    .Info

    .IP

    .AD Username

    Hi Scott-

I think this would require that you have the AD provider installed and configured correctly for pass-through authentication.  Once this is in place (and configured to do so), a user *could*  "automatically" be logged into the site.  When a user uses the AD provider to log in, a DNN account is created (and updated depending on the settings).

You could then have your form, as part of the submission, email someone with any information you want.  You could use dynamic forms to auto populate the users first/last name, etc into a hidden field and then email the result.

    Hi Scott--

this is part of the core dnn install (but it must be installed at the time of dnn install)(depending on the version of DNN).  Download it from the dotnetnuke website.  "Active Directory Provider" and install:

    http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Developme...fault.aspx

I think it will also be in the dnn website > install > authsystem directory as a .resources file...again, depending on the dnn version.

    good luck,

    Curtis

you can add this to your site.  I was saying that if you didn't install this in older versions of dnn at the time of dnn install, you wouldn't be able to add it via the dnn site.  Instead, you would have to download the install and manually install.

just use the link to dotnetnuke.com above to download the version based on your dnn version (4.x or 5.x)

    Hi Scott--

I recommend reading up on the provider first: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community...fault.aspx

dnn 4 should show the authentication link off of the admin menu.  dnn 5 requires that you go into admin > extensions and select the provider to enable/configure

within your dynamic forms question, you would set  the advanced field options > dotnetnuke user default as the field you want to pull.  The form will then automatically show the value.

if you don't want that field to show up, you would set "hide / show field by role" and "hide / show field from these roles (in the advanced field options).

The difficult part of this is to get the AD provider configured and working with pass-through auth.
