I'm trying to upload a pdf file and am getting a strange message when I attempt it.  The file does upload but the redirect after the postback doesn't kick in and it does not save the file name into the database.  It just comes back to the same page and  posts a warning at the top of the module saying 'TEST MESSAGE'.

I'm not sure where this text is coming from as I'm pretty sure that I didn't place it there.  I've tried different PDF's and smaller ones work fine but I tried one over 2mb and 1 over 11 mb and I got the test message on both of those.  I have 158192 set for the maxrequestlength and the requestLengthDiskThreshold I also have it set to 15000 in the settings for the upload control.

This is a strange one ... please advise on what I may be doing wrong here ... or why I would be getting this warning popping up saying 'TEST MESSAGE'.  I'll try and attach a screenshot of what I'm seeing.  The Debug information doesn't really give any clues and nothing shows up in the event viewer regarding it ...

    Hi,

This was something we recently just discovered within the latest 3.4 release and is related to some new enhancements within the release related to file uploads. New features were added to allow you to choose the file upload path size. I believe this error means the file size is larger then is allowed from the settings.

Until we can get the next patch out you will need to increase the amount (size) allowed within the question settings. I believe you also need to include the allowable extensions but I am not sure right now if the TEST MESSAGE bug is related to the extensions list or size feature.

We are hoping to have a fix out within the next 2-3 weeks as we just discovered this. Thank you for your patience.

One other question ... how large do I need to make the size specification? What I have setup now should allow me to upload a near 15 MB file but its failing on a 2 MB and 11 MB file ...

Ahh... this setting should only be used if you need to limit it smaller then your web.config file timeout setting is set to. There is a limit set in your web.config under the HTTP Runtime section for the max size (I think its called MaxREquestLength) and by default its set to 2 mb. So you should change this setting I believe. The override is only if you want to make it smaller then your web.config setting.

    Thanks,

    Chad
