    I want the following behavior:
    • Click Submit
    • A popup window is presented instructing the user that they have to hit OK in that popup before the form is actually submitte
    • User clicks OK
    • Popup disappears and form is submitted
    If this is possible, can you provide some hints.
    Thanks
    Ken

    Hello Ken,

    This is possible but this task will become tedious. Here are some hints as to what you can do:

     1.) Go to Module Configuration -> Submit Link/Button and enable the feature "Hide Submission button". -- In order to do this you won't be using the Submit button but instead add a question of type HTML Button.

    2.) Add a new hidden field question type with a default value of "False". The reason for this hidden field is because it will wait to be assigned a value from the selection of the pop up window. Say if "Ok" is selected then assign "True" to this hidden field. If "Cancel" then assign "False" to your hidden field.

    3.) Go to Module Configuration -> Custom JavaScript File and add a new JavaScript function that will pop up the window to confirm or decline proceeding to submit the form. So maybe your function will look similar to this

    function myPopUpFunction(hiddenFieldID)
    {
     var myConfirm = confirm('Would you like to submit the form?');

     var hiddenField = hiddenFieldID;

     if(myConfirm)
     {
         /*Use the ID of the hidden field to set True as the value*/
      }

      else
      {
          /*Use the ID of the hidden field to set False as the value*/
      }
    }

    4.) Your HTML button will now be your submit button. Go into the edit mode of the HTML button and go under "Advance Field Options" and you'll see a section called "On Client Side:". This section is basically for any JavaScript that you need to perform. In this section you will call the function that you created and pass the FieldID of your hidden field to your function.

    5.) Now you will create a Form Submission Question Event that is based off of the value of your hidden field. It will only fire if True is the value of the hidden field.

    These are the appropriate steps to achieve what you're seeking.

     If you have any questions please let me know, however I can't create/write out the entire form for you, so with this information you should be able to move forward and accomplish your task.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Thanks for the response. I just figured out another way... one that is not tedious.

    • Go to Module Configurations / Custom Javascript File.
    • In the Submit / Save JavaScript section, enter a script like this one provided by Nannette Thacker http://www.shiningstar.net
    {
    var agree=confirm("Are you sure you wish to continue?");
    if (agree)
    return true ;
    else
    return false ;
    }
    • Click Update Javascript File
    • Done
