Specifically, I am testing a completion event which fires an email message to the appropriate user(s) and I am using the $(EditLink) token which works fine for what I want.

In the email, the link URL text generates "Edit Form Results", with the URL working obviously.

Is there a way to change this text on the URL?

    Much thanks...

    Hi Jack,

Usually any of this text can be modified if you go into the module localization area... This is usually under Admin, Lanaguages where you can drill down into the module localization files under DesktopModules\Dynamic Forms\App_LocalResources.

Beyond that... I still think that there is also a "Full URL" such as $(EditLinkFull) Or $(EditLinkURL). I would have to check the code and/or user guide for more specifics but I know we usually always add a way of having the edit link be a full hyperlink in case you want to make it an image etc...

    Thanks,

    -Chad

Thanks for the suggestion on the Languages section Chad, never considered that.  Unfortunately after looking twice in that section in the appropriate folder hierarchy that you specified, I could not find any token references.  I'll take another look.

I'm actually testing the tokens below in terms of e-mail/PDF messaging.  I'm focusing more on how the recipient of the e-mail could get to editing/adding info to this form.

    $(CurrentURL)
    $(URLReferrer)
    $(ViewLink)
    $(EditLink)
    $(EditLinkURL)

Again the EditLink token answers this issue perfectly in terms of functionality.  Just trying to improve the default text.

In the e-mail message, The EditLinkURL token than you mentioned displays the full URL to edit the form, but no link/URL (just static text).  (Actually, I believe all tokens that have URL in it display a static text URL - so I'm assuming that's how the product works out of the box with those features)

I couldn't find a token named "$(EditLinkFull)" like you mentioned.

I have also tried adding text to the EditLink token similar to the PDF tokens (i.e. $(EditLink:SomeTextHere)) in the e-mail message, but that was not successful.

Bumping to see if any solution has been found or if there is a way to modify the URL text of the $(EditLink) token.  It's default text is "Edit Form Results".

Could you also modify the text of the $(EditLinkURL)?

In the relevant demonstration (#23) view View Link/Edit Link tokens, I saw that the edit link token was able to be manipulated using an image, but was still unclear how that could be implemented.

Finally, in my last response I said I could only see static text of the URL in e-mail from the $(EditLinkURL) token.  I was using a Web-based mail client.  When I open Microsoft Outlook, the token shows a working URL.

    Hi Jack,

Well, when you use the full URL this allows you to come up with how you want to use that. For example, if you were in Microsoft Word or in a Rich Text Editor, you would add an image or create some text like "Click here to do something" and then right click it and click "Make Hyperlink". Well within your email event you can also do this... you basically create your own text and click "Make Hyperlink". Only instead of setting the link to something like http://www.datasprings.com you would make the link something like $(EditLinkURL)

As far as changing the text directly... All of our modules support full localization, meaning that the text comes from localize resource files within DotNetNuke. You might try and find out how to manage this text from the following link:

    http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources...-pack.aspx

If you have FTP rights you can just FTP under \desktopmodules\Dynamic Forms\App_LocalResource files and simply open/edit these files in NotePad and you will see how you can modify the text.

    Thanks!

    -Chad
