    Hello,

I am trying to populate fields (many of them) based on the value entered into a tetbox. I currently have a submit button next to the textbox which triggers a question event that "sets question default / return SQL response based on another question response"... the initiation/postback question is "Search Button" and the Affected Question is "Applicant E-mail Addres"... the SQL statement is below:

select email As DefaultValue from fire where filenumber = '$(filenumber)'

This works, however I would need to do this about 100 times because I need to set the default values for 100 fields based on the value entered into the first textbox.

I considered trying to use a client side event for this purpose with the command below. I have an e-mail field with the short name of email and a file number field with the short name filenumber. I also have a table called fire with a column named filenumber.

$(email) = (select email from fire where filenumber = $(filenumber))

I am running Dynamic Form 4.0.11.16442 and DNN 5.6.3

Does anyone know why this is now working using the client side event or have an easier suggestion?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Matt

    Hello Matt,

There wouldn't be an easier solution to this. You're following the correct protocol when building out this form based on the guidelines you've described.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
