I have a question event that is set to "Set question default / return SQL response based on another questions response"

It is supposed to set the value of a textbox using whatever returns from a stored procedure.

The stored procedure looks like this:
    EXEC MyStoredProcedure $(SourceUserID), $(TargetUserID)

This question event is not working when the stored procedure call looks like what I have above, with the references to the two other shortFieldNames, but it does work when I type the stored procedure with real values like this:

    EXEC MyStoredProcedure 1187, 344

So I think I have most of this right except the question event is not substituting the actual values of the two other shoretfieldnames at the time it is called. So I think the question is, Why is it not using the values of the other two fields?

The other two fields are both combo boxes with default values and choices made by the user before calling the question event.

Hi - Just to confirm are these two fields hidden fields or textbox fields or what type of fields are they? Do these fields exist before (in the sort order) from the field that is triggering the question event? Are you also running on the very latest 4.1 release?

    Thanks,

    Chad

Hi... Hmm... That version is several years old so it's possible that there was either a bug in the 3.4 version you have or it has a conflict with the version of DNN it is running on. My first suggestion would be to recommend upgrading the module since if there was a bug we don't necessarily go back unless its a security issue for fixes or patches. You might check out the latest trial version and see if you have the same problem with that release. The other option is to see if there is a newer patch or hot fix for the 3.4 release that is newer then .30.

    Thanks,

    -Chad
