    Hi all,

    I have two questions regarding on DF.

    1. How to pass one field value(any type) to another field value(any type) in two different forms based on UserID? E.g. a textbox field to combo box field (drop down) by using SQL query.

    2. Can I set up a form (DF) that send email directly to that individual UserID?
    From email address: drop down list from query
    To employer email address: drop down list from query
    To teacher email address: drop down list from query

    Description: multiple line text

    With a submit link, it would send out email to those individuals.

    I know that DF has a Dynamic Email event in completion event section, but it would not apply to the description above.

    Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

    Hello Wazoo,

    I would encourage you to invest looking into our Dynamic Form Demonstrations. Many of these functionalities you're inquiring on, are covered in our Demonstrations sections.

    http://www.datasprings.com/formdemos

    Both of these items can without a doubt, be configured within Dynamic Forms.

    ITEM 1:
    Are these two forms on 1 page or on different pages? If on the same page, you can use JavaScript or a Question Event - Set Default Value. If on different pages, you'll need to perform this assignment using SQL.

    ITEM 2:
    You can easily build a Dynamic Form to have these input fields. There's a token available to you $(UserID). This token grabs the User that's logged in and utilizing your form. With this ID you can run SQL to return any information stored on this user, E.g. First Name, Last Name, Email Address, etc..

    So you could add a Question of type Hidden Field and give it a SQL Default Value of:

    Select Email As DefaultValue from Users where UserID = '$(UserID)'

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

    Thank you for quick respond.

    These two items are interrelated.

    ITEM 1: The forms are on the different pages. First form has the field values (first name, last name, email address, description, etc.) are stored in my own table, that is , name table 1. Second form has been setting up to pull in value from table 1 field values and will be stored in table 2.

    Your suggestion made me conclude that I should use as following in ITEM2?
    Select * from table 1 inner joint table 2 ; the field names; where as Userid = 'UserID'

    Once, the email values have populated in drop down combo field that the form can send to those individual email addresses. That means, these information will be their mailboxes?

    Thanks again,
    Wazoo

    I just want to clarify that the form such as following:

    From Email address: me@yahoo.com
    To Email address: you@gmail.com
    Phone:
    Message:

    Send

    Would I be able to send this information to that email address from this form?

    Hello Wazoo,

    Yes you can send an email using a Dynamic Form with these fields.

    Let's say these are the shortfield names of your Dynamic Form Questions:

    * FromEmail
    * ToEmail
    * PhoneNumber
    * Message

    These will become available tokens in your Email Form Completion Event.

    $(FromEmail)
    $(ToEmail)
    $(PhoneNumber)
    $(Message)

    You can place: $(FromEmail) in the from section of the Email event
    You can place: $(ToEmail) in the To Email section of the Email event.
    You can place: $(PhoneNumber) and $(Message) into the WYSIWYG editor/template.

    Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
