    Hi,
I'm fairly new to DNN generally and I'm a non-techie looking to build some websites.
I am looking at dynamic forms and dynamic views as a more powerful and functionally rich alternative to the DNN core "Form and list".
I am currently trialling both and trying to learn all about them.

Could someone please indicate to me what the optimal or expected solution is for a simple "Add new Record" button / link at the bottom of a list of data (dynamic view) in order to open the associated Dynamic Form?
Should i just be using a simple HTML module to define the link / button, or is there an integrated method within the Dynamic View or Forms module?

thanks very much for your help,

    Tony

    Hello Tony,

Typically I would recommend using Dynamic Forms and Dynamic Views in combination.

Dynamic Forms can be used to INSERT and UPDATE Records.

Dynamic Views can be used to Display and DELETE Records.

I would recommend building a SQL Flat table that would contain the information for this workflow. We have several training that can assist in demonstrating this type of functionality.

This type of implementation is a custom configuration and isn't something that you simply can enable as a feature out of the box.

You can review our available trainings below:
    http://www.datasprings.com/support/training

The specific training where this type of functionality will be briefly outlined is the following:
    Dynamic Views – Advanced Features

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
