How can I create reservation number, I would like it to change by +1 each time new request is placed through form.

Another question is how can I send two emails one with complete information to the admin and another with few fields to the person who filled out the form? Is it even possible?

    Thank you in advance

Hi there... Well this can be a tricky situation.

1st. Does the number HAVE to be +1 or does it have to just be unique? If it just has to be unique you could take the current $(UniqueCompletionID) tag which is a global unique identifier (also known as GUID). This could work, I can also tell you a way to use SQL as a SQL Default and get another GUID...

A identifier like this would look similar to: 60026C1D-65C3-4469-9E45-0FC0B2065936

So, if that will work you can either use the $(UniqueCompletionID) tag or you can create your own GUID using the SQL default.

2nd. The other option here is to create your own table and use a SQL Insert Statement to insert the data into this table. You would not be able to give the user the reservation ID at the end though (well without some tricky implementation with our Tailored Text/HTML module which could be done but again tricky). On your table just setup a Auto Number field and each time you insert the data into the data it will create the number for each entry.

3rd... Just to highlight one option is to use a SQL Default and pull in the next number (number +1) into the form for the next user. The problem here is that if two users went onto the form at the same time, or if users started submitting the form and then went to lunch, their 'reservation number' would probably be the same as another user and thats why this method is really not a reasonable solution.

As far as the other emails... You can setup as many (or as few) completion events as you would like. So you can setup one for the admin and another you can use the dynamic tokens within the email to field. For example if the shot field name is 'myemail' you can use $(MyEmail) as the email to field.

Chad thank you very much for your thorough response.

I would like to have some smaller reservation number that I would be able to send to user and that would go in line (+1). Would you be able to clarify how to do it with SQL. I am sorry I am a newbee in this

Thank you so much for your time!

Another Idea, do you know if it would be possible to have date plus time plus first 1 letter added together to create reservation number in the hidden field? I saw some other forms do mathematical calculations like that, but I can't seem to find anything on this in the form.

You could use the SQL trim functions along with the grid or maybe the SQL left / right functions to maybe get the first 10 characters within the SQL GUID?
