Hi,

I am trying to design a new form with multiple columns:

[First Name] [Last Name] [Gender] [Age Group] [Register] [Amount]

We would like to have 4 - 6 rows like this.

And There would be a "Total Amount" at the bottom (total of Amount columns]

"Register" is a Check Box; Once the User checks this CheckBox, I want the form to calculate the Fee for that member based on the Age Group (Adult = $10, Kids = $5, etc.)

Some rules I want to apply:

1. Calculate amount ONLY when the First Name is non-blank and "Register" Check box is checked.

2. Always keep the "Grand Total Amount updated whenever the "Fee" changes for any row.

3. Once the user is comfortable with the form, the user clicks "Submit" and PayPal takes over the payment processing....

 

My immediate concern: I am able to fit about 4 fields on one row; if I add more the DN page is expanding (going beyond 800 pixels); but there is lot of empty space between columns; I want to reduce that space and accommodate additional columns.

Currently I have set Column Span as 1; row span as 1 for all the fields.

Can you point me to any help page? (I searched on the forums several times; somehow I couldn't find a relevant post on this problem)

Hi. You might check out demonstrations #19 and #20, 19 should show you how to have many columns within the field and what the settings are as far as the stylesheet and colspan properties etc... Demo 20 should cover different type sof calculations. It does sound like you are going to need some very specific client side events to handle some of your scenarios, however you should be able to handle this.

The Demo does not demonstrate how the two large text fields span more than one column. I have some large text areas that I want to span across three columns without making the form spread. I have two fields included in the same row. In HTML I would use colspan to set up the forms. What is the trick in Dynamic Forms?

Hi James, instead of making the textbox fields span multiple columns, have you tried changing the field width on them under "Question Look / Feel"? For example, you probably have it set to the default of 100 at the moment. Increase that to 300 and it should have the effect you want without spreading the form. -- David
