    Dear all,

    I want to use the methods and properties available in SharePoint related DLLs like Microsoft.SharePoint.dll, Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.dll etc through C++. I would like to compile the solution in a non-SharePoint machine by just copying these DLLs to a location and loading them to my project. Here I am puzzled, as I do not know how to use the DLL file and the namespace available in it.

    Some details about my environment:
    1) I use Microsoft Visual C++ .NET 2003 Framework 1.1
    2) OS is Windows XP
    3) SharePoint environment from where I would take the DLLs is WSS2.0/SPS2003

    Some questions arising to my mind are,
    1) Where should I copy these DLLs in my machine(my machine does not have SharePoint installed it)? Any location is OK?
    2) How do I access these DLLs through C++?
    3) After adding/referencing these DLLs, how do I use the namespaces & methods etc available these DLLs?
    4) Will my exe work if used in a machine in which SharePoint is installed?

    I hope someone could help me resolve this problem. I am novice both to SharePoint and C++.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Nesan Joseph R.
