When starting the development of a new Portal (a large website that may end up having 1000s of smal portals), what are the key factors that should be considered?

Will DNN work in a Web Farm / multi-server Cluster environment?

Considering the availability of various add-on modules (for DNN) and webparts (for SharePoint) thatt extend the functionality of core products, what are the real differences between these two products we should consider?
