The end result is to have a unique number that has 2 parts. I want to take the [ID] number and combine it with a modified date number. So the resulting number would look something like this - 98.1303. This number will reside in a column called "ControlNumber", which is a calculated field. The column - Calculated (calculation based on other columns) The data type - Number (1, 1.0, 100) 91 is the ID number 1303 - 13=year, 03=month result showing as 91.1303 I am using a formula as follows: =ID+1.TEXT([Date of Request],"yy")&TEXT(([Date of Request]-DATEVALUE("1/1/"&TEXT([Date of Request],"yy"))+1),"000") The result comes out showing as 913088. The 91 is correct but the last 4 numbers are julian date numbers. QUESTIONS: 1) How do I get the number to look like required number above ? 2) how do I get a"." between the 2 numbers ? THX! . . . / DALE
