    I have a checkbox group with multiple items allowed to be selected, and one of those items triggers a question event to show an optional field.  When I click "Other" the optional field displays.  If I select another choice leaving "Other" checked, the optional field goes away.

     

    Example: Interest options - Mobile GIS, Utilities GIS, Other, etc...  If I select Other the other field shows up.  Leaving Other checked, and I select Mobile GIS both Mobile GIS and Other are still checked, but the optional field goes away.

     

    As a temporary fix, I have the optional field always shown.  They would like it to be hidden unless other is selected.

     

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Yes the field types of Checkbox Group and Listbox are currently not available to be the 'post' question for question events. All fields can be used as the affected question but for postback questions they are limited to checkbox, combo box, radio buttons, etc... We plan to implement this later but much of the functionality is different for different users. For example what if you wanted the checkbox group to be only 'other' checked VS what if you wanted to be if they selected three options plus 'Other' etc... If you changed this to be a combo box you could get this working but not in the current release with a multi-select field type.
