I sent out a newsletter, and a member tried to unsubscribe by clicking on the message at the bottom of the email: http://www.lehighacreslive.com/Defa...9285305b4f

But when he goes there, is says: Check the boxes of the newsletters you'd like to receive, then hit 'Update Subscription' at the bottom of the page.

Problem is: There is no "Update Subscription" button for him to click on.

What am I doing wrong with the setup?

BTW, I am using version 4.10.40.

There is no "Update Subscription" button.

    Darnell,

Glad you were able to figure out what was causing the problem. Would you mind posting what it ended up being to help us for future versions or other users who might have the same question?

I would be happy to. It was a dumb mistake on my part.

In the "Module Configuration"/"Layout Settings" the Update Subscription block had no text in it. It was blank.

I entered "Update Subscription" and now it shows up like it should.

Thanks for the update. Also just a note, if you are trying to get the user to be unsubscribed without every having to uncheck the box's you can use the token $(OptOutAll) instead of the other opt out tokens. With this token the user will be unsubscribed without having to click update.

Keep in mind that unsubscribed does not mean removed and subsequently the user cannot re-register, because the newsletter reports that their email address exists in the records.
You can (and probably should) manually remove unsubscribed individuals so that you don't email them, and so they can re register if they ever feel the need.

Chad, when some hits the $(OptOutAll) link, what setting controls the message they receive?

The "manage subscription complete" message? Because I think the system needs a dedicated "you've been unsubscribed" message.

    Rick,

Thanks for your suggestions. We will review this for future updates. Right now if the user chooses and clicks on the opt out all token it will display the message defined for updating their subscription. So, usually this is a confirmation such as 'Your subscription settings have been saved.' etc...
