    Hi,

    I've been trying to get the role/role group based redirect to work on dynamic login 3.0. It just keeps redirecting me to the default url... Here's a bit of info about my setup:

    - I'm using a user that is not admin or host.

    - I've made sure the uesr is in the correct role/role group

    - I've specified unique priority numbers for each redirect (100, 200, 300)

    - The override role redirect is not checked

    Any ideas?

    Got it to work, thanks for all your help.

    Turns out you the default redirect overrides the role & role group redirects rather than just being a fallback for any redirect that has not been specified.

    ie.
    Customers -- Priority: 100 -- redirect link: www.mysite.com/customers
    Default -- redirect link: www.mysite.com

    Non-customers get redirected to www.mysite.com, but instead of customers getting redirected to www.mysite.com/customers, they get redirected to www.mysite.com... which makes no sense since you'd think specification would take precedence over the default value...

    Might want to see about getting that changed in the next update.

    Bumping an old post...

    I would also like to see this problem solved - cannot see how Matt solved this. Running on version 3.1.2. and the issue remains.

    Any workaround ideas?

    Pontus,

    Can you let me know the specific bug you are referring to? The role and role group redirects should work as long as you have priorities set on them and don't have the feature enabled to redirect to a previous URL.

    I do think that you must specify a default redirect link or it will error out and redirect to the home page if you don't. Is this what you are referring to?

    Chad,

    I have entered unique priority and no redirect to previous URL. It works fine for role redirects - however not for role group redirects. Role groups are only redirected to home page.

    Which means I have to specify all roles in a role group "manually"...

    I tried to leave default redirect link empty - no errors - the module automatically selects home page.

    Sorry, not yet. I actually thought that this issue was resolved based on the other forum posts but didn't realize it was only still an issue with Role Groups. Ill try and duplicate on our end.

    Interesting... Apparently when we fixed one bug related to Role Redirects and Default URL/Page this caused another bug (role groups routine was skipped). Long story but the end result is that I have this fixed in the upcoming 3.3 release of Dynamic Login.We are planning to release this near the end of the week or early next week, if you are part of our collection you will see it under patches and hot fixes. We will also review adding just this patch to the past 3.1 build.

    I am having the same issue with Role Group redirect not working. I use Dynamic Login 4.10.4.

    I am able to successfully set up Role redirect under Security Role rules - that works beautifully. When I set a Role Group to redirect under Security Role Group Rules, the redirect does not work. Under Module Configuration, Default Redirect Link is set to a page on the site, and I do NOT have checked 'override user and role redirection and always redirect to previous URL'.

    I can set each Role to redirect but it would really save time if the Role Group would redirect. Appreciate any help!
