    Hi,

    Good Morning!

I just installed the Dynamic Login Module and added it first to the home page of Master Portal (actually a child portal of the DN installation). It went well. Then, I added the module to the home page of another child portal. The installation was successful too.

I enabled SSO on the 2nd module.

When I tried to login on the 2nd portal using a username that was registered (and valid) on Portal 1 (designated as Master portal), I got this error. Any suggestions to get rid of this error are greatly appreciated !

    A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    Hi

I just want to add this information...

I wanted to enable SSO in the Dynamic Login module that is installed on the Master Portal also; but when I try to select the Master Portal, I don't see the portal in the drop down list. I guess it is by design you are not showing thge Portal you are already in?

If so, should we not install the Dynamic Module on the Master Portal (a Child Portal in my DNN installation I designated as Master Portal in Dynamic Login module that was installed on another child portal).

    Please help me

    Hi,

    These Forums are great tools!

Just by merely posting a message about the error, that error is resolved. Magic ?

I guess, this Forum is forcing us to think dep while posting the message (trying to describe the problem clearly). That thought process is further helping us to find a solution

I just removed the Dynamic Login Module from the designated Master Portal. And the Dynamic Login Module on the other child portal where I had the problem suddenly disappeared !

So... we are not supposed to install the Dynamic Login module on a Portal that is being considered to be designated as the Master Portal while installing the module on other portals.

    Is my understanding correct?

Can we change the Master portal at a later date?

    Thanks,

    VJ

    Hi VJ,

Nice when issues magically resolve on their own!

You should be able to install Dynamic Login in any of your portals regardless of whether it's the Master or Child.  You can change the master portal In the SSO settings.  Thanks!

Sorry to report, but in DNN 5,2,1 The SSO does not function at all. I get the very same critical error no matter how I configure the module. That is sad. This look otherwise very good module....
