I've installed the Dynamic User Directory Trial and I'm testing to see if it can meet one crucial requirement:

I need my administrators to see a list of registered users and their passwords. In your documentation screenshots, I saw a token for password [pass] . So I assume it is possible. However, Password does not appear in my DNN profile properties, so I cannot tie my Dynamic Registration pafield to the core DNN password field.

Do I need to create a Password field in the profile properties? If so, how will the DNN database handle this? Will it create an additional field where the password info will be stored unencrypted or will it access the encrypted information from the asp membership table?

I'm running Dynamic Registration 3.1. I would appreciate your guidance. Thank you!

    Hi Louise,

DR allows you to assign a user role to manage other users.  Do your admins actually need to see the existing password in Dynamic User Directory or do you just need them to be able to change the password?

Also, did you mean Dynamic Registration 3.2 or  a much older 2.1?

    Thanks,
    Candace

    Candace,

    Thank you for your reply.

My admins need to see the password. Can that be done?

And the version listed for Dynamic Registration on the Module Definitions page reads: 03.10.00

Hi Louise, this is not possible. I tried creating a "password" DNN profile property, mapped the DR "password" field to it so that "password" is now available to use in DUD but it will not show up. I don't think this can be done in the current version of DUD since the "password" field is encrypted and the coding must somehow be changed to be able to encrypt it to a regular string text. -- David

Any chance user passwords could be exported to an Excel file using Dynamic User Directory?

HI, if you want to export user passwords, try looking at Interactive User Import version 2.0. This is a better way to go. IT's located here: http://www.datasprings.com/Products...fault.aspx

There's a trial version you can download to test out or go to www.betasprings.com (username: host, password: dnnhost) and have a short at the release version. -- David
