Hi, I'm working on an email function which is suppose to send parameters of a form to a specifed email address like this:

    To: ($GM-WEBIMPORT$) david@het.co.za

The email works fine. The only problem is that I can't get the tag to display the name before the email address.

HI, several questions for debugging purposes:
    1) is GM-WEBIMPORT the shortname of the field?
    2) what type of field is it, a textbox field that the user filling out the form enters?
    3) if so, the token should be $(GM-WEBIMPORT)
    4) if you turn on debug mode, what values do you see being passed to the email?

($GM-IMPORT$) is the tag required by the application receiving the email sent by my form. It is static so can be hard-coded into my email event. The difficulty is that the tag must be displayed as the 'friendly name' of the To email address (e.g. David david@het.co.za). It works if I send a test email from Outlook but not if I send it using a form completion email event.

HI, I"m still puzzled. How does the tag ($GM-IMPORT$) know to translate to "David" as above? Where are you getting the friendly name from to begin with? Can it be a textbox field on the DF form for the user to fill in? If so, then you could call it $(FriendlyName) and in your To email address, type in:
    $(FriendlyName)$(EmailAddress)

Perhaps try something to this effect. Another words, make the GM-WEBIMPORT a shortfield name with the friendly name already included as part of the email address. -- David
