I'd like to be to use login information (registration info) and populate certain fields with my form (firstname, lastname, email, etc...)  This is not working.  I've check the advanced setting session variable option.  No luck.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FYI: I'm using Dynamic Registration to register users.  Could this be the problem?

    Ron,

Yes you should be able to specify the initial default value from a User field by setting that in advanced settings. I suppose this is something you are already doing? To actually pull in the username, firstname, lastname, email this is where you would have to do it.

This is found in the user guide under page 21 (of the current 2.3 release, although the feature exists in v2.2 as well).

The feature is under Advanced Field Options and is called 'DotNetNuke User Default'.

As far as using Dynamic Registration to register users this isn't a problem at all, just make sure you have them as 'linked' fields so that when a user updates their First Name (or other fields) it updates the appropriate core field.

    Hey Chad,

I have each dynamic field setup the way you described.  However, it's not working.  Anything else to try?

FYI:  When I'm logged in as "host", the fields DO self populate with my registration information.  However, they do not self populate for a regular registered user.

Hmm... For Dynamic Registration do you have it specified in DNN Core integration so that the Dynamic Registration 'First Name' is tied to the DNN Core 'First Name'? First certain field types (i.e First Name, Last NAme) you might have to specify it also in the optional fields. This is because first name and last name are actually both User Credentials and Profile Properties in DNN. I bet thats it, set it under the recommended fields in DNN Core Integration area and also under the optional fields in the DNN Core Integration area.

I'm struggling with the same issue, except I'm not able to select any options under 'DotNetNuke User Default'. The dropdown list is blank. Is there something else I have to do?

    I'm using DNN version 3.2.

    Thanks for all your help!!!!
