    1. Giving the full URL to the image

    Am I missing something?

I have a client that is experiencing this same problem right now in this PDF file. Checkboxes in the PDF file appear as "missing image boxes". I wonder if the PDF file needs to have the "Base URL" parameter set so it can reference the images properly from the web site (if they are not embedded in the PDF itself).

Any advice on how to solve or work-around this problem?

I have been having the same problem with an image in the PDF created by a completion event not showing up - just showing the x.  The weird thing is that I went back and looked at previously created PDFs and it was actually working for a while (back in September)!  I have also tried a full path for the image.

Larry - how did you get the results to show as a checkbox (or try to show that way) in your PDF of the results??

@Cheryl: The PDF template contains the usual message parameters such as "$(Industries Needs)". This field is a "GridView / Survey" question - that's what generates the checkboxes.

Oh, I see.  Thanks, Larry!  I haven't used that question type, but I was just looking at it yesterday, so I know what you're talking about.  Good to know, in case we have a use for it in the future.

Hi Larry - do all images not work or just the images related to the GridView/Survey question?

Do the images appear if you use an HTML email with that field or token?

Additional Information - Code copied from DynamicFormsDemonstration22:

Hello Chad, I am the client working with Larry on this problem. I have created a PDF form completion event copied from the DynamicFormsDemonstration22. I have used a Rich Text Editor to add our corporate logo as shown below. Although this works fine when I created an email competition event (all images were displayed in the email), no images show for the PDF document event that I have attached [ $(PDFAttach:CreatePdf)] to the email event? Again, no Checkboxes or our corporate logo are being displayed in the PDF?

Event Sort Order / Event Name
    0 / ThankYou(redirect)
    10 / CreatePdf(PDF)
    99 / SendUserEmail(Email)

Hi - Well this could depend on a few things... Specifically:

    1. What editor are you using? Sometimes images work differently between editors. FCK Editor/Telerik Editor/etc...

    2. You might try and add header tags with a BASE HREF URL. You can google BASE HREF for more info on this.

    3. What URL are you using this on? Is it a standard www.site.com or something like www.site.com/other?

    4. If it still does not work please open up a support ticket directly on Snowcovered and we will review it and dig in deeper.

    Thanks!

I have been having the same problem with a logo image not showing up in the PDF that is created as a form completion event... (what's strange is that there was a time in the middle of September when it did show in the PDF even though no settings have been changed that I remember!)

I am using the Telerik editor... On the site that isn't working, it is a standard www.site.com URL... but on my sandbox environment, which is www.site.com/other, the image is actually showing up in the PDF.  In the one that worked, it was a relative path without the www.site.com portion, but neither that nor the full path works in the other site.  I also tried a base href but unfortunately, that did not make any difference...

    Hi Chad,

Here are the answers to your questions:

    1. We are using the standard FCK Editor on our site.

    2. We haven't tried injecting a BASE HREF tag in the
section but this seems like something that the average user shouldn't have to mess with to get an image in a PDF file.

    3. The site is a typical DNN site whose base is http://www.eos-cca.com/. The form page is at http://www.eos-cca.com/Surveys/QualitySatisfactionSurvey/tabid/206/Default.aspx.

    4. I will talk to my client to see if we will pursue this through a Snowcovered ticket.

Hi Larry - Yes if you want to open a support ticket we should be able to assist quicker.

    A few items:
    1. Different editors work differently, it looks like we do include the B HREF automatically for email events but not for PDF events (not sure why right now but after a review of the code that is what I found.). There are some settings you can change within the FCK Editor to save the full URL to the image (by default I think it saves it as a relative image path and not full image path which is why you need the base href)

    2. You might try and click 'View Source' and insert something like this within your PDF template:

    Thanks,

    -Chad
