Hi.

I've just started evaluating Opt In Email. I'm using the trial version (v4.1.0.19702). I defined a list consisting of two subscribers, and attempted sending a newsletter to this list (without scheduling involved).

I receive the following email:

Subject: Bulk Email Confirmation(Trial Version)‏

Bulk Email Operation Started: 07/10/2009 19:58:27

Conversion from string "" to type 'Integer' is not valid.Conversion from string "" to type 'Integer' is not valid.Email Recipients:2
Bulk Email Operation Completed:07/10/2009 19:58:27

and the newsletters are not being sent (altough the report claims the opposite).

I would really like to evaluate the module properly. Please assist me.

Hi Amit,

First thing we should try is if your email works when using the core DNN email function.  Please go to Admin, Newsletters and send yourself a test email from here.  Let me know if you receive the email.  If you don't, please go to Host, Host Settings, Advanced Settings and check your SMTP settings.  Thanks!

The SMTP settings are fine. This is also evidenced by the email I quoted last time, which was sent from the same portal.

I also sent myself a test newsletter via the core DNN functionality. This time I received this email: 

Bulkmail Report

Operation started at: 09/10/2009 16:16:37
EmailRecipients: 1
EmailMessages: 1
Operation completed: 09/10/2009 16:16:37

Status Report:

No errors occured during sending.

followed by the (singleton) recipients list.

As I described, this is not what I got with Opt In Email. I'm looking forward to your support.

HI Amit,

Thanks for the info.  On your original attempt, you said 'without scheduling involved.'   It's always recommended that you enable the scheduler.  Can you please try this and see how it works for you?  Thanks!

Hi Candace.

A colleague of mine was using the module, and by the time I got back to it, the problem disappeared. Hoepefully it won't come back.
