HELP!!!! I made a huge booboo!

I accidentally linked the "Login Page" (Site Settings -> Advance Settings) to the tab that holds Dynamic Registration module. Now I cannot log in as Administrator or Host to administer the portal.

What can I do to get the correct my mistake and be able to get back into the Administrative Interface of DotNetNuke?

Thanks . . . Hopefully someone can save my life!

    Jenn,

Hi. Do you have access to the database directly (I think you will need to), try this:

    Update portals
    Set LoginTabID = Null

Thats assuming you only have one portal! Otherwise to get the portalID for that portal and do something like this:

    Update portals
    Set LoginTabID = Null
    Where PortalID = 0

    That should do it.

    Good morning, Chad.

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I do have access to the DB, and I ran the SQL query as suggested. It worked! I did have to restart the DB and DotNetNuke before the change/correction took effect.

Thanks again, and have a great weekend!

I'm with Jenn - I did the same thing.

However, I have changed the LoginTabID to NULL (although I simply used the dataview in SQL Server Management Express Studio).

However, how does one restart SQL Server (shared host) and how does one restart DNN?

To restart SQL Server, highlight the server icon (if you are using SQL Server Management Express Studio), right-click on it and you will see a restart option.

To restart DNN, go into the Host Settings screen, at the bottom you will find a link that says "Restart Application". Click on that.

    Hope these helps!

Just a couple of problems with this...

    1. I'm on a SHARED, HOSTED server - Restart is greyed out, so that others using the same SQL Server don't get the plug pulled by me (or others)

    2. The whole problem is that I could not get back into DNN, so I couldn't get to the Host->Restart Application

I did find that if I made a change (any change, even a space within a comment) to the web.config file (I COULD get to the files over ftp) then the services restarted, and I got back in.
