In the Manage Dynamic Questions -> General Settings, there are 2 options for "Align Link Buttons" . . . Left or Right. How about a 3rd option for Center?

Our designer needs to have the form submit button to be centered, and I have to resort to modifying the module code in DynamicForms.ascx to make that happen. I have hard-coded this alignment in, but this is not ideal as in all future forms created with Dynamic Forms in this DNN installation will have a centered button. Is it possible to add a "Center" option to the alignment options?

There is no style attached to it which would be a good addition to the stylesheet.

In the submit text, you can use HTML.  Not sure if the below will show up, but put center tags around your Submit.  You can put

    center Submit /center

    .

The cool part with this is you can format the text more.

    Jenn,

Hi. We are reviewing this and it should be on the list for the next release. I don't see any harm in allowing the form link buttons to be centered.

Just an FYI (since you are setting it to be static as centered) the major problem there is that it has to be centered for each form you create, if you need a work around so that multiple forms can be created (and each have their own alignment setting) then I can dig up some quick queries you can run against the database. Basically the settings are stored in the database and although the option is not there you could easily change it just for a particular form. I would have to check on the exact query but it would be something like:

    Update ModuleSettings
    Set SettingVAlue = 'Center'
Where SettingName = 'AlignButtons' And ModuleID = YourModuleID

I would have to check but I think that would do it.

Again, adding this to the next release shouldn't be a problem though, just letting you know a work around for now.

Thanks to you both, Chris and Chad, for your suggestions.

Chad, yes, using SQL queries to alter the DB table entry for the button alignment is a good idea. I can now revert the hard-coded change I made in DynamicForms.ascx and simply run the SQL query in DNN to effect a "Center" alignment.

The SQL script you gave above is correct (SettingVAlue should be SettingValue, though I don't think SQL is case-sensitive and so it is fine) and works. I can get the ModuleID from the URL when I go into "Manage Dynamic Questions" edit interface and take note of the "mid".

Thanks so much for the work-around while you are working on adding this to the next release.

Hummmm . . . upon working around more with the above work-around strategy, I discovered that if I restore DynamicForms.ascx to the original state (taking away the "Center" hard-coded alignment and leaving the original align="<%=ButtonAlign()%>" alone), then I must keep running the SQL script to keep the centering effect because every time I go into the edit interface to change something (else), I hit "Update Settings", the button alignment settings defined in the "Manage Dynamic Questions" (Left or Right) would take effect, erasing my centering.

It is better to hard-code the centering in DynamicForms.ascx, and if or when I do need a Left/Right alignments later on, I then can run the SQL script to get the Left/Right -align effect.

This is what I am doing too Jenn. At this point, I can't imagine a circumstance where I wouldn't want the submit button centered.

The hard-code fix works great though, thanks for the input!
