    Created a birthday field that I want to validate to ensure that the birthday is before a certain date such as '01/01/1990'.  What is the best way to do this?

    HI, you can use javascript or SQL Validation, whichever way you want to code it. I think SQL validation on the field would be simpler.

    Let's say your birthday field shortname is called "birthday". Under Validation / SQL Validation, call the store procedure:

    usp_validateBirthday '$(birthday)'

    Under Host / SQL, type in the following:

    create procedure usp_validateBirthday(@birthday nvarchar(50))
    as
    begin
    declare @ValidEntry int
    if (datediff(dd,'01/01/1990',@birthday)) < 0 set @ValidEntry = 1
    else
    set @ValidEntry = 0
    select @ValidEntry as IsValid
    end

    NOTE: SQL Validation must return an IsValid entry with value 0 (for invalid response) or 1 (for valid response). -- David
