I need to create a group of forms that share data.

The first form should simply add a company name (textfield).  I was able to create this no problem.

The second form should tie the company name (from form 1) and locations data.  The location data will have 4-5 textfields.  I need to have multiple locations associated with each company name.

The company name and locations will be used to populate a third form.

For now I need to get the second form to work.  From what I have read I assume I should do an initial data bind to retrieve company name shortname values to populate a dropdown combo box.  That is about as far as I have figured out.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Also I would be willing to talk to someone who is willing to help on a paid basis.

HI, okay let's say on Form 1, you have shortname of "DSParam1" to represent the Company name. A person enters a company name in the textbox field and then when submit, will take them to Form 2. In Form 2, you should have "Company" shortname, as well as five other shortname fields (location1,location2,location3,location4,location5). In your SQL data bind for Form 2, you would have something like this:

select * from tablename where company = '$(DSParam1)'

Note that you need to replace the "tablename" with your SQL tablename and make sure the "location1,location2,..." are the same column names from the SQL table. Try this out and see if it works for you. Also, we do provide premium support (http://www.datasprings.com/Premium-Support). -- David

David, I did not create a special table for form 1.  So far the results are just in the "View Form Results" area.  Is there a place within the Dynamic Forms tables I should look for the table name?  or Do I have to create my own table?

Hi, you don't have to create your own table for form 1 since all they're doing is typing in the Company name. However, you do need a table to compare to. So if I was the end user and I type in "Microsoft", you will need to perform some type of lookup to retrieve the five locations that Microsoft belong to. So hence, you have to have a lookup table with a list of Company Names and their associated locations to get SQL binding to work on Form 2 in order to proceed to Form 3. -- David
