Im runing Dynamic Forms 2.7 and DNN 4. When trying to set the Dynamic Questions Sort Order in a form i makes the server to crash. Creating a Service unavailable error.

Is ther any one who has been experiencing similar problems and might have a explanation / sollution to this matter.

HI, could you go to Admin / Event Viewer and check the logs to see if there are more detailed message concerning the error? Furthermore, have you ever managed to set the sort order for any DF fields before? Or is this the first time you ever tried this? I'm curious because DNN 4 is a very old version. -- David

Hi. It was no aditional information in the log file that was possible to connect to the Service unavalibal error.

I do not know if I had this problem earlyer but I managed to reproduce it an it was kind of a user mistake involved.

I was using the "dynamic question sort order" function but instead of pushing "update question order" I did puch "update settings" at page bottom.

Remade the sort order after reset and it works fine if you use the right function, but it is not crash proof using the "update settings".

Hmm, very interesting because clicking on "update settings" should not have caused the "service unavailable error". Any how, glad you got it resolved. -- David

Im still struggling with the “service unavailable” problem. It now seams that the problem is related to using the "update settings" button under the "module configuration" menu. It seams that any use of that button will cause "service unavailable" error but all information is saved.

Do you have any idea??

We are running ISS 7.0, MS SQL Express, DNN 4

Hi, did this just started happening? If so, was it an upgrade on IIS 7.0? Or has it always had this problem when you first installed DF 2.7 running on DNN 4? I'm trying to narrow down the possibilities of what would cause this. Also, perhaps check your IIS log files using the following instructions:

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools
Run Internet Information Services (IIS).
Find your Web site under the tree on the left.
Right-click on it and choose Properties.
On the Web site tab, you will see an option near the bottom that says "Active Log Format." Click on the Properties button.
At the bottom of the General Properties tab, you will see a box that contains the log file directory and the log file name. The full log path is comprised of the log file directory plus the first part of the log file name.

I have hade this problem earlyer but i cant tell if it has been sins the first time it ws installed. It is right now i had rely problems with it. I will try to get the IIS log from server  admin.

Hi, I logged into your website and looked at tabid 129 and tried to go into module configuration and click on "update settigns" but then it just hangs. But the setting does get saved. Can you check out this URL and see if your application pool setting is set up properly? Get back with us on this. I'm very curious to know about this issue. Thanks.

The Application Poll issue was not the one (it was already sat to automatic). However setting IIS7 to accept 32 bit did the trick.
I got a comment from the server admin that this was rather a way to isolate the problem not a solution as this is likely to create other problems. I have seen "fixes" in the forum.
Is there a update available?
